Hi all,
Yet another Braille Display queston from me but I promise this one is a bit easier.
I am looking at two models to possibly purchase. The Focus Blu and Seiak display. Now the Seika is cheaper so I wasn leaning towards that one. I am just wondering if anyone has either of these models and if so, how do you like them?
Hi
First, to toot my own horn, so to speak, I do have an almost unused Focus 40 I woud be wiling to part with at a very reasonable price, pm nme if interested.
I am lucky enough to have two 80 cell displays as well.
I have not tested the Focus Blue but I have worked with the Seika displays for some time. They are very simple and basic, no fancy functionality. But they are small, stirdy and reliable, so I am pretty happy with them. I have not tried the blue tooth model however, just the Perkins 40 display, but it worked very well for me, a tiny bit slower responding than say, the Focus, but only a fraction of a second or so, nothing that ever bothered me.
My favorite displays are the Alva though have been taken over by Optilec so I do not know how they are today, and the HandyTech displays with the ATC (active tactile control) technology, the display moves to the next line automatically when your fingers are at the end of the current line. The technology is not 100% reliable yet, but I tested it at a show with their representative and I was very impressed. It did work better with Window Eyes than Jaws though.
Hope this helps, please contact me via a PM if you might be interested in a Focus 40.
Cheers
